Raw cams are machine tools that require pretreatment (boring). They are used for fastening and precise basing of the workpiece in a turning chuck. Raw cams are made by turners using steel or non-ferrous metals as a material. Unlike other types of cams, these do not harden (hence the name). The raw cams are attached to the rails that come with the cartridge.
